"JUST ONE WAY?!"

“Whaddya mean, JUST ONE WAY?!
“You’re just narrow minded!
“Uptight, obnoxious Christian!
“We know about your kind!
“We listen to our Oprah …
“That girl, she’s got it down.
“She’s so rich, she must be right,
“We don’t need you around.”

Jesus ain’t just one way …
He’s a multicolored man,
Who’s comprised of every race
Just like Adam.
If you must think big …
You must think small, too
Think of monkeys making babies
Living at the zoo.

“What’s that supposed to mean?
“You calling me a monkey?
“We worship what we can see:
“Christian jive is funky!
“If you trust the Bible —
“It’s full of mistakes.
“Jesus is a loser,
“A liar and a fake.”

Yes, it is full of mistakes,
But who put them there?
Those who would deceive us.
Jesus said, Beware
Every couple has a child
As they are themselves:
That could never, ever change.
Look up on those shelves …

Men with real big thoughts …
Don’t know they don’t know.
I’ve read books by heretics,
Who are prone to crow.
Cutting corners, they will lie
On the points they make.
If a fake calls you a fake …
Then you’re not a fake.

Rome did not like Jesus;
He wasn’t one of them.
Our great foe could build on that:
They said, “Don’t trust him.
“We are right here for you.
“Look how bright we shine.
“If you don’t see Jesus …
“We must be divine.”

Popes from the beginning,
Often cursed and jeered.
People ran them out of town —
When they left they cheered.
Power hungry and corrupt,
Deceived and so deceiving.
Jesus came to warn us …
How he must be grieving.

Oprah, rich and powerful
Is still just flesh and blood.
She don’t need no savior
That Rome drug through the mud.
But Jesus died, he really did
We know that he lived, too.
Otherwise, why do liars bring him up …
And try to mislead you?

Jesus died to prove that
Evil does the killing.
Jesus never killed a thing:
He was hope instilling.
When in Rome, do as they do …
And find good men to kill;
From guilt you’ll buy the lies of evil …
But not yet get the bill.

“Why is evil, if God’s good
“God must be bad, too.
“People dying left and right …
“Raped and murdered, too.
“Thrown out of their homes,
“Made to live without.
“How can I have faith in that
“That just makes me doubt.”

True love isn’t forced.
God can’t impose his will.
The only way we love him
Is fearing we’ll be killed.
Evil is … so love could be.
God lets us choose our way.
The Christians who have angered you
One day that debt they’ll pay.

“How do you know this?
“What makes you so good.
“‘Cause you’ve read all of these books …
“Like a good boy should?
“I don’t trust … not anyone,
“‘Cause people lie to me.
“So, what, does God give me this faith
“Presto? Magically?”

Yeah, he does, it’s freaky.
He invades your mind.
Your heart and soul awake with truth …
When they come online.
If you don’t want the truth
Because you’re mad as hell …
Think those thoughts … wishing to know
You’ll feel him ride with you.

How do I know things of God?
At 5 I had no luxury.
I didn’t go looking for him;
Evil came looking for me.
Fearful visions filled my mind,
Like a waking dream.
By morning I was soaked with sweat
No sleep, worn out, no dreams.

Until I had the thought …
While I was being tormented …
That there were beautiful things in life,
None of these things relented.
When I realized Jesus suffered too …
And never gave in to fear …
I realized God was a God of love,
And my terror disappeared.

“Well, I still like my Oprah …
“She has an open mind.
“She generous, intelligent …
“Hard-working, strong and kind.”
That’s good but she don’t know.
She don’t know she don’t know.
She ought to share her thoughts with God …
And leave them off her show.
