Comments and Replies ... and Who We Are

TANATA is devoted to discussing the paradoxes and the mysteries of life, among which is the paradox of the coexistence of good and evil. “God is love,” John tells us. Evil exists, we would suggest, not because God is detached or unconcerned, but because free will exists which is required for true, unforced love to exist. Still, it is painfully hard to reconcile this paradox. We believe that all evil one day will be judged and destroyed, until then we must pray.

DANIEL 7:13-14

13 “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him.

14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.

REVELATION 1:7

7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

« Apollo: Perdition's Son? »

I.
E pluribus unum, the many into one:
Does it refer to the New Eden?
No? Will he rise, Apollyon?
From the pit, perdition’s son?

Osiris, Gilgamesh and Nimrod, too:
One demon-god with many names.
Is he coming to trample, thresh?
Should we give Saturn (Satan) the blame?

Daniel’s fourth beast with four horns:
Out of them rises the arrogant one,
Son of Zeus, what hell hath borne …
Is the tall Black Head Apollyon?

Or is he a forerunner of Apollo,
Sworn in with a Freemason’s gaze,
Fulfilling Islamic prophecy,
Hastening the end of days? (— Eliakim)

II.
“Now the last age by Cumae’s Sibyl sung Has come and gone,
And the majestic roll Of circling centuries begins anew:
Justice returns, returns old Saturn’s reign,
With a new breed of men sent down from heaven.
Only do thou, at the boy’s birth in whom
The iron shall cease, the golden race arise,
Befriend him, chaste Lucina; ‘tis thine own Apollo reigns. …

“He shall receive the life of gods,
And see Heroes with gods commingling,
And himself Be seen of them,
And with his father’s worth reign o’er a world …

“Assume thy greatness, for the time draws nigh,
Dear child of gods, great progeny of Jove [Jupiter/Zeus]!
See how it totters—the world’s orbed might,
Earth, and wide ocean, and the vault profound,
All, see, enraptured of the coming time!” (— the poet Virgil)

III.
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition (Apollo?), who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. (— the apostle Paul, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17)
